• Re: my last post I confess I did do some research to have my dates exactly right and in the process found myself closing the tab I had open for the "Guin" (Alabama) Wikipedia article and opening a new tab for "Gui" which is neat.

• Two data points I have in my head are that Doug Engelbart invented the mouse in 1968 and that the first commercially available GUI shipped with the Apple Lisa in 1983 and at least one of these data points is Wrong but I like to think that everyone ran out to buy a mouse in 1968 and spent fifteen years vainly trying to use them to interact with their computers.

• I'm ready for the streaming era to end. I actually don't think I can take another conversation where you talk about a show or a movie you watched and the first thing someone asks is what platform you watched it on. Fuck the platforms. They don't deserve to be in our conversations. Holding movies hostage ass pieces of shit. Why would you spend any of your precious life saying words like "Disney Plus" or "Hulu".

• There are lots of sitcoms about people whose lives are so sad and empty that they have to spend all their time with two or three offbeat best friends and to be honest it rings a bit hollow for me. Where are the sitcoms with protagonists who are genuinely lonely and depressed? I would watch that.
